Parallel Reality is a pioneering health-tech company dedicated to creating innovative software solutions designed to enhance the management of care for both users and healthcare professionals.

We collaborate closely with technology and healthcare experts to create innovative, cost-effective software solutions aimed at improving health and well-being management. Our journey began by partnering with physiotherapists and general practitioners (GPs) from the NHS to develop a case study focusing on the potential of technology to assist individuals with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, particularly those with uncomplicated lower back pain of a mechanical nature. Through this collaboration, we gathered valuable insights on how a digital approach could benefit both patients and healthcare professionals.

About Us and Our Mission

Our research illuminated the current MSK disorders pathway and the NHS's objective of reducing clinic visits and missed appointments. We identified that achieving this reduction could be realized through virtual consultations, evidence-based well-being assessments for patients, and seamless communication with healthcare providers to deliver real-time, patient-centered care.

In response, we developed software capable of accurately identifying anatomical body points and monitoring their movement, providing patients with guidance on proper exercise techniques. Instead of relying on third-party cloud services for intensive machine learning computations, we devised a method to optimize smartphones for local processing, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and preventing data misuse.

Parallel Reality adheres to the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit and the Information Governance Toolkit, demonstrating our commitment to data security.

Our virtual consultations are HIPAA compliant and employ end-to-end encryption, safeguarding users' privacy. Moreover, we have obtained approvals for seamless integration with EMIS and SystemOne, the NHS's trusted platforms for the ethical and secure use of healthcare data.
